The National Crime Agency (NAKA) is slated to set up a special unit of 'well-informed police officers' who will have access to the most sensitive information possessed by the agency. According to Police Corps Chief Tibor Gašpar, the establishment of this analytical unit ranks among NAKA's core tasks for 2014. Some 10-20 officers are expected to help uncover tax frauds in particular.
The new unit will also work on 'strategic analyses' that involve analyses on particular types of crimes. That provides knowledge on how and where certain crimes are most often perpetrated. This is then expected to make the work of police officers easier and more efficient. The selection of officers should be subject to stringent criteria, such as passing a lie-detector test and other tests which don't usually apply to other police officers.
