The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Slovak Republic received Ukraine’s decision to postpone signing the Association Agreement with the European Union with surprise. According to the official statement from the Ministry, Slovakia continues to see the Eastern Partnership as a policy framework in which we can together achieve significant success to the benefit of all of us.
The Slovak Republic respects the sovereign decision of Ukraine, while still supporting the constructive and systematic deepening of EU-Ukraine relations with Ukraine being our neighbour with the largest population. We also have an interest in developing intensive bilateral Slovak-Ukrainian political and economic relations.
