Slovakia will have 93 days to promote itself when the international Expo 2017 exposition opens in Astana, Kazakhstan on June 10, according to Economy Ministry officials quoted by the TASR press agency. Slovakia's exhibition could be summed up under the slogan 'Slovakia - a country of good ideas; great ideas for the future of energy'. The Slovak pavilion will showcase the country as having advanced industry, innovative potential, a highly qualified labour force and scientific potential, doing so in five thematic areas. The micro-house Ecocapsule is expected to capture the most attention, presenting a sustainable smart mini-house powered solely by solar and wind energy.
Slovak businesses will be given the opportunity to establish contacts with and reach new markets, especially in Asia. At least two large 'business missions' with assistance from the Slovak Government are being prepared. The entire Slovak exhibition will cover 354 square metres and is conceived as a single large work of art. The budget earmarked towards the presentation is €2.66 million, including costs incurred for technical equipment and organisation. A Slovak day at Expo 2017 will be held on July 18 and will feature a performance by folklore ensemble Lúčnica.
