Slovakia condemns London terrorist attack

At least two probably connected incidents took place in Westminster on Wednesday. A police officer was stabbed, while a car mowed down several pedestrians. Another car crashed into the fencing of the British Parliament. British police have stated that they are treating the attack as a "terrorist incident until we know otherwise." Speaker of Slovak Parliament Andrej Danko condemned the terrorist attack and offered his condolences to the survivors.

Slovakia's Foreign and European Affairs Ministry doesn't have any information at the moment indicating that Slovak nationals were among the injured in the violent incidents that took place in London. The ministry's spokesperson Peter Susko:

"The Ministry has reiterated yesterday, that we were appalled and shocked by the terrorist attacks in London in which five people including the attacker are confirmed to have been killed. Minister Lajčák has reacted on Twitter calling the act of violence senseless and condemning it. He said his heart goes to the families of those killed and injured.

The information that we have at this point, confirmed by the police is that no Slovak citizens were either killed or injured in the attack. Of course, we are monitoring the situation closely and our embassy remains in contact with the British authorities."
