The American monthly magazine National Geographic recommends its readers visit Košice which currently holds the European capital of culture title. In its special October issue, the magazine brings an article praising in particular Košice architecture and wines. The author of the article said she was enchanted especially by the craft street where tourists can meet contemporary artists, potters, and blacksmiths.
According to her, it’s the place where you can taste as many as 800 different kinds of wine from famous Tokay region.
Besides wine and architecture, the article points out also to many historical landmarks surrounding Košice which are protected by UNESCO such as wooden churches or the biggest Slovak mountains; the High Tatras. Famous Slovak figures as pop art painter Andy Warhol or tennis player Martina Hargašová are also included in the city’s profile.
