New City Card makes Bratislava tourist travel easier

A new tourist card called Bratislava City Card should direct visitors of Slovakia's capital city towards the city's most attractive spots, including museums, galleries, the zoo and cruises on the Danube River. Tourists will also be able to travel via the Bratislava Integrated Transport (BID) system with this card, and thus use trams, buses, trolley buses and trains within the central city zones, with a possibility to travel throughout the region at some point in the future. "We believe that this product will not only make transport in Bratislava more attractive but also much easier to use," said Zuzana Horčíková of BID. There will be three types of card available with a validity of 24, 48 and 72 hours. This system has already been in place for the public transport in Bratislava; train and bus operators have now followed suit and thus have broadened the options for tourists. The Bratislava City Card comes with a questionnaire, via which the Bratislava Tourist Board (BTB) wants to ascertain where the tourists come from and which sites and places they visit. The card will be available at Tourist Information Centres, hotels and travel agents around Bratislava.
