Head of EP: Neo-Nazis in Parliament part of European-wide phenomenon

The presence of an extremist far-right party in the Slovak Parliament for the first time is another piece in the trend that exists in other EU countries, said the President of European Parliament Martin Schulz for the TASR press agency. "It's a disconcerting development", he added, referring not only to the post-election situation in Slovakia, but also general political developments with growing levels of support for extremist far-right and anti-European parties. When Slovak media inquired about his take on the election results also in the context of the current migration crisis, Schulz pointed out that extremist political parties tend to appeal to basic human instincts and urges, while criticising approved political measures. According to him, the best way to combat such parties is to pass genuine solutions that would yield results in the social sphere and contribute towards social justice, particularly in times when there's a rising gap between rich firms in the EU and poor people.
