Slovakia’s under-16 hockeyball team are world champions after winning gold at the home tournament in Banská Bystrica. In Sunday’s final, Slovakia defeated the Czech Republic 2-1 to claim the title for the first time in 12 years. Slovakia’s under-18 team also secured a medal, taking bronze after a 6-2 win over Canada.
