Slovakia’s under-18 ice hockey team has made history by winning their group for the first time at the IIHF U18 World Championship. The hosts collected 10 points from four games, finishing ahead of Canada by a single point.
The young Slovaks will now face Denmark in the quarterfinals on Wednesday at 6 p.m. in Trenčín. Elsewhere in the knockout stage, Canada takes on Sweden, the Czech Republic meets Finland, and the United States will play Latvia.
