At the XIV Winter Paralympic Games in Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo (March 6-15), Slovakia will be represented by the largest contingent in history - 30 athletes. It will also be the first time that Slovakia will be represented in all sports at this event - para-hockey, wheelchair curling, para-biathlon, para-cross-country skiing, para-snowboarding and para-alpine skiing.
The Slovak Paralympic Committee will discuss Slovakia's participation in the 2026 Winter Olympics opening ceremony on Friday. The Ukrainian Paralympic Committee called for a boycott in response to the International Paralympic Committee's (IPC) decision to allow Russian and Belarusian athletes to compete under national flags. Several countries have already publicly declared their non-participation in the event.
