Slovakia Reach Olympic Ice Hockey Semi-Finals After 6–2 Win Over Germany

Slovakia’s ice hockey team advanced to the semi-finals of the Winter Olympics in Milan after 6–2 victory over Germany in Wednesday’s quarter-final. The Slovaks will feature among the top four teams for the second consecutive Olympic tournament, having won bronze four years ago.

Pavol Regenda scored twice, while Kelemen, Okuliar, Dvorský and Tatar also added goals in front of 9,532 spectators. Slovakia built a 4–0 lead before Germany responded. The tournament ends for Germany with the defeat. Slovakia will learn their semi-final opponent after the remaining quarter-finals between Canada and Czechia, Finland and Switzerland, and the USA and Sweden. The semi-finals are scheduled for Friday, 20 February, at Milan’s Santagiulia Arena.
