Slovakia’s men’s hockey team opened the Winter Olympics in Milan with a historic 4-1 win over Finland. Juraj Slafkovský led the way with two goals, while Dalibor Dvorský and Adam Ružička also found the net. It marks Slovakia’s first ever Olympic victory over Finland and their first win against the Finns at a major tournament in nearly 22 years. Goaltender Samuel Hlavaj delivered a standout performance under heavy pressure. Head coach Vladimír Országh praised a “great team effort.” Slovakia next faces host nation Italy on Friday.
