Slovak Shooters Win European Championship Gold in Trap Mixed Team

Zuzana Rehák-Štefečeková and Erik Varga won gold for Slovakia in the trap mixed team event at the European Shooting Championships in Châteauroux, France. In a tense final, the Slovak pair tied with Spain’s Alberto Fernandez and Fátima Gálvez at 41 points after five rounds, forcing a shoot-off. Rehák-Štefečeková and Varga then delivered a flawless performance, hitting all targets, while the Spanish duo failed to score.

The win marked Slovakia’s fifth medal at the championships and its first gold. Rehák-Štefečeková had already secured a silver in the individual trap event earlier in the competition. Additional Slovak podium finishes included a bronze for Diana Beníková in the 50m rifle prone event, bronze for the Slovak men’s team in the same discipline, and another third-place finish for the Slovak women’s skeet team.
