Slovak swimmer Filip Gero won silver in the 400m freestyle at the European Youth Olympic Festival (EYOF) in Skopje, finishing just 0.05 seconds behind Hungary’s Zétény János Sárkány.
Gero advanced to the final from seventh place in the heats but shaved over eight seconds off his time, setting a new personal best. His result marks Slovakia’s third consecutive EYOF with a swimming medal. Also reaching the finals are Slovak swimmers Sebastián Karp and Mia Pišťáneková.
