Slovak tennis player Mia Pohánková won the girls' singles title at Wimbledon on Saturday, defeating sixth-seeded American Julieta Parejo 6–3, 6–1 to secure the biggest success of her young career.
It is Pohánková’s first Grand Slam title. She is the fourth Slovak to win a junior singles Grand Slam in the country’s independent history, joining Renáta Jamrichová, Tereza Mihalíková, and Kristína Kučová.
