 Gold, silver, and bronze won by Slovak juniors over one weekend

The weekend proved successful for Slovak junior athletes. The women’s squad won bronze at the U20 Women’s Ball Hockey World Championship that was held in Poprad, beating USA 3:2. Nela Lopušanová scored 18 points in six games with 11 goals and 7 assists, dominating the tournament's scoring table.

The Slovak women's quadruple kayak team won the gold medal in the 500-meter race at the Under-23 European Championships in sprint canoeing. The crew, consisting of Réka Bugár, Sofia Bergendi, Hana Gavorová, and Bianka Sidová, triumphed at the event in Pitesti, Romania, finishing ahead of Spain and Germany. In the junior men’s K4, Máté Marsal, Oskar Ďurčo, Teo Lukáč, and Jakub Bartolčič won the silver medal for the same distance.

Prior to this race, women’s crew members Sidová and Bugár also won silver in the K2 500-meter race. The Slovak team won by 1.592 seconds, finishing well ahead of the Spanish team.
