Emma Zapletalová sets new Slovak record in 400m hurdles

Athlete Emma Zapletalová set a new Slovak record in the 400 m hurdles with a time of 54.24 seconds. At the Bronze Meeting in Geneva, she achieved another in a series of successful results after returning from injury. Zapletalová, who is coached by Dutch coach Bram Peters, improved her own historical best by four hundredths of a second from July 10, 2021, in Tallinn, where she won the European Under-23 Championship title. Last week, she finished second in this discipline in the prestigious Diamond League and previously third at the FBK Games gold meeting in Hengelo, Netherlands. At the beginning of the week, she also broke the 50-year-old national record in the 400 m at the bronze meeting Kritérium SNP in Banská Bystrica (51.91 s). The member of the Banská Bystrica Dukla club moved up to 11th place in this year's world rankings and remains third in Europe.
