Earlier this week, the 12 countries participating in men’s hockey at the Olympic Winter Games Milano Cortina 2026 named the first six players to their preliminary rosters. The tournament will start in February and is the first time NHL players will participate in the Olympics since 2014.
The six Slovak players are Erik Černák (Defence, Tampa Bay Lightning), Martin Feherváry (Defence, Washington Capitals), Šimon Nemec (Defence, New Jersey Devils), Martin Pospíšil (Forward, Calgary Flames), Juraj Slafkovský (Forward, Montreal Canadiens), and Tomáš Tatar (Forward, free agent).
Slafkovský represented Slovakia at the 2022 Olympic games, and was named tournament MVP after helping Slovakia to the bronze medal.
The full roster will be announced later this year.
