The Czech Republic was hit hard by the recent high waters in the Danube River, which flows right through the heart of central and Eastern Europe. Bratislava, Slovakia’s largest city however escaped relatively unscathed. This was thanks to an intelligent – and removable - barrier system that had its first real test in June.
