On period poverty with Natália Blahová from the initiative Dôstojná meštruácia

Although period poverty affects an estimated 16% of women in Slovakia, public awareness remains low—76% of people have never heard the term. This topic is becoming more and more alarming in the midst of rising inflation and tax rates in Slovakia.

Period poverty, products, and female health in our country are relatively stigmatized, as compared to the rest of the world or even Europe. The initiative Dôstojná menštruácia, launched in March 2025 by organization InTYMYta, is working hard to address these issues. RSI spoke with a representative from inTYMYta, Natália Blahová.
