High school exit exams, in Slovakia known as maturita, begin on Tuesday, March 11, with a test and essay in Slovak language and literature, affecting over 37,000 students. Nearly 1,600 students from Hungarian-language schools will take the same exams in Hungarian language and literature. More than 41,000 students will participate this week, testing their written knowledge in Slovak, foreign languages, and mathematics. Topics for the written exams will be drawn and announced via live broadcast on Rádio Slovensko at 12:20 PM. On Wednesday, March 12, students will write an external test and essay in their chosen foreign language, followed by a math exam on Thursday, March 13, and finishing with tests in Slovak and Ukrainian languages on Friday, March 14. Oral exit exams for high school seniors will be in May.
