Monday, January 27, marks the anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau, the largest Nazi death camp. The day was chosen to be the Holocaust remembrance day.
The day remembers the killing of six million Jews, two-thirds of Europe's Jewish population, and millions of others by the Nazi regime and its collaborators, including the clerofascists government of the Slovak state lead by Jozef Tiso.
To talk about her research in Slovakia, we invited Madeline Vadkerty – a professor, author, and researcher documenting Holocaust. She is an American now based in Slovakia, where she conducts her research.
