Most people in the middle ages could not read or write, yet human curiosity was just as strong as it is today. This meant that hundreds of years ago people relied on words and imagery to tell stories, with church frescoes eager to teach and fascinate followers. One church’s spectacular frescoes have survived relatively unscathed for generations.
