He was a handsome officer of the Czechoslovak army, who was training in England together with his fellow compatriots. They met, fell in love… but he had to leave to fight in Europe. However, he said that if he survived the war, he would return and marry her. Colonel - after the war Major - Alexander Doman kept his word, marrying his sweetheart Ailsa and bringing her to live with him in Czechoslovakia, where she has been living ever since.
