Věra Čáslavská has been one of the most admired Czechoslovak athletes of all time not only for her impressive collection of medals including 7 Olympic titles but also for her courage to stand up against political opression. Till October 20th Slovaks can admire two of Věra Čáslavská’s Olympic gold medals from Tokyo 1964 and Mexico 1968 at the old building of the town hall in Bratislava as part of an ehibition called „The Victories and Losses of the Slovak Sport“. She has donated them to the Slovak Museum of Sport.
