Note 1: In Slovak, “potraviny” can mean both groceries and grocery store. The full expression for a grocery store is “obchod s potravinami”, literally — a shop with groceries, but “potraviny” is more commonly used in everyday speech.

Note 2: The Slovak word for milk is “mlieko”, while dairy products is “mliečne výrobky”. The adjective “mliečny” (masculine form) means dairy or milk-related and changes its ending depending on the noun it describes.

Note 3: The standard Slovak word for eggs is “vajcia”, but “vajíčka” is also commonly used in everyday speech. It is a diminutive form, which can make the word sound smaller or more affectionate.
