Note 1: The Slovak verb “hrať sa” (to play) is a reflexive verb, which means it normally requires the reflexive pronoun sa. For example: “Hráme sa hry” (We are playing games) or “Deti sa hrajú na ihrisku” (The children are playing on the playground). Without sa, the verb hrať usually has a different meaning and is used for playing a musical instrument (with a preposition), a sport, or a role, for example: “Hrám na gitaru” (I play the guitar) or “Hrám futbal” (I play football).
