Today, we bring you another episode from the Window to the World series, originally created by our colleagues Michal Herceg and Zuzana Borovská. In this episode, we’ll take you to the French city of Calais and the Slovak town of Bardejov.
Calais, a historic port on the English Channel, is known for its UNESCO-listed landmarks, its role as a major transport hub, and even its own city anthem. Across Europe, Bardejov’s medieval center also enjoys UNESCO recognition. Once a thriving royal town on important trade routes, it is today celebrated for its architectural beauty and nearby spa with healing springs, famously visited by Empress Sissi.
