Five scientists received the Slovak Scientist of the Year 2024 award on Tuesday at the Slovak Academy of Sciences in Bratislava, with Ivo Petráš winning the 'Scientist of the Year' category.
Other categories included the 'Young Scientist', 'Innovator of the Year', 'Technologist of the Year' and 'International Cooperation Personality'.
It was the 28th annual awarding of outstanding Slovak scientific figures from all fields of science and technology. The aim of the event is to professionally and socially highlight the most important personalities of scientific life as well as the best achievements in science and research in Slovakia.
