Slovakia won the Central & Eastern European Energy Efficiency (C4E) Champion Award at the Central & Eastern European Energy Efficiency Forum for its Obnov dom project, which supports energy-efficient home renovations. The award was accepted by Juraj Moravčík, director of the Slovak Environmental Agency (SAŽP). The project speeds up application processing and provides financial aid to low-income households to improve their homes, reducing costs and enhancing living quality. Environment Minister Tomáš Taraba highlighted that despite past criticism, over 13,000 applications worth more than €200 million have been paid out. The biennial C4E event promotes sustainable building policies across Central and Eastern Europe.
