The Slovak Ministry of the Environment, along with representatives of the Ministry of Investment, Regional Development, and Informatization of the Slovak Republic, and the Ambassador of the Swiss Confederation in Slovakia, Peter Nelson, announced a significant cooperation agreement that will bring an investment of €22.9 million for the development of tourism, environmental education, and biodiversity conservation in nine national parks across Slovakia.
The financial contribution from the Swiss programme will be allocated to two key areas: the development of sustainable tourism and the creation of supporting infrastructure. Half of the funds will be used by the national parks to implement soft activities, while the remaining portion will be directed towards infrastructure development, including the renovation of 13 information centres, field stations, and eco-centres.
