A new Slovak-wide network of quick-chargers for electric cars has been put into operation in May 2014, with 15 chargers installed on different routes between the cities of Bratislava and Košice. This means you can now take an electric car on a cross-country trip with very short recharge times.
While the cost of electricity for journey equates to just €10 – which is cheaper than taking the bus or the train – the extra time required to stop and recharge a vehicle would inconvenience those in a hurry, as Gavin Shoebridge soon found out.
