Electric cars have been dubbed by some as “silent killers”, with their lack of noise at low speed leading to a heightened risk of injuries from individuals who might walk out in front of them without looking.
A new raft of measures from the European Parliament is about to pounce on that particular problem over the next few years, while simultaneously reducing the audible volume of all road traffic to increase the health of citizens European wide. Gavin Shoebridge finds out more.
