The Initiative of Slovak Teachers has announced that the current strike will be interrupted as of Monday, February 15. They will, however, continue their protest for better pay and working conditions in different forms such as public gatherings and marches. Launched two weeks ago, the strike gathered the support of 15,000 teachers at its peak. They demand their salaries be increased this year by €140 per month and in 2017 by additional €90. They also request additional investment in equipment in various schools worth €400 million, and a change of the system of continuing education.
