Slovakia will vote for Gianni Infantino to be the next President of the International Football Federation (FIFA), the Slovak Football Association announced on its official website. Thus it joins its Austrian, Czech, Hungarian, Polish and Liechtenstein counterparts in supporting this candidate. A lawyer by profession Infantino has been the general secretary of UEFA since 2009. The French former diplomat Jérôme Champagne, the Jordanian prince Ali bin Al Hussein, the South-African businessman Tokyo Sexwale and Sheikh Salman bin Ebrahim al-Khalifa of Bahrain will also run for the FIFA top post in the elections scheduled to take place on February 28.
