In terms of studying two foreign languages at secondary schools, Slovakia ranks highly above the European average, TASR has learnt from Andrej Králik of the European Commission's Representation to Slovakia. According to a pan-European survey of foreign languages in EU countries, 80 percent of students in Slovakia study two foreign languages, whereas the European average stands at 59.9 percent. Up to 98 percent of students in Slovak secondary schools study at least one foreign language. "English dominates among the languages, being studied by up to 97.3 percent of secondary school students in Europe," said Králik.
