The Polish company Legnave has complained against Slovakia to the European Commission regarding water exports. The company's intention is to pump water from Slovak territory to Poland and use it for its business there. However since 2014, the Slovak constitution has allowed water export only if it's bottled or for humanitarian reasons. The European Commission has asked Slovakia to make its case. The Slovak Environment Minister Peter Žiga reacted by saying that his country needs to protect its water for future generations. He thinks that other European countries will follow Slovakia in protecting their water sources in reaction to climate change.
