President Andrej Kiska has decided to join the election campaign and exert pressure on politicians. Although the head of state does not say directly that the pressure targets the incumbent government of Prime Minister Robert Fico, it is obvious from his statements. President Kiska's official website refers to the web portal verejnaobjednavka.sk (meaning public mandate), where he appeals for people to help him create a mandate for a functioning health care system and quality elementary schools; two issues the incumbent government is presently battling, just weeks before parliamentary elections.
