S&P confirms Slovakia's rating at A+ with stable outlook

The Standard & Poor's rating agency on Friday confirmed Slovakia's rating at A+ with a stable outlook. Slovakia, along with Ireland, has now the ninth-best rating from among 19 euro zone countries. The agency estimates that Slovakia's real GDP growth should exceed 3 percent year-on-year in each of the next few years, while the country's public finances are expected to be further consolidated, partially thanks to a gradual reduction in the public finance deficit. Slovakia has had a long-term rating from S&P at A+ with a stable outlook since July 2015.
