Half term in Slovak schools

Half term in Slovak schools

There are almost 12,000 teachers on strike causing several hundreds of schools to be impaired at the moment in Slovakia. That is why the half-term records were handed over to pupils and students in a different way than they are used to at the end of January in this country. According to the Education Ministry, teachers give out notes of verbal description or evaluation of academic achievement the last day school day of the first half of the school year. The notes are not a public document. They are handed over upon a request of an adult student or a parent. This Friday, some parents and students are collecting them individually; others prefer to receive them when the strike is over.
