The European Investment Bank's loans in Slovakia came to a total of €1.04 billion in 2015, amounting to a year-on-year rise of 87 percent. The bank put a particular focus on the co-financing of priority projects bankrolled by the European funds. Among the two most significant EIB loan operations in 2015 were a loan worth €600 million, co-financing European fund priority projects in research and development, development of information society, human resources, environment and public administration, and another €350 million loan to support strategic investments in transport infrastructure.
