New Holocaust museum opened on Tuesday

A new museum of the Holocaust opened in Sered (Western Slovakia) on Tuesday. The reconstruction of a complex that used to be a forced labour camp started in 2009. So far only two out of 5 planned barracks are opened to public as a part of Museum of the Jewish Culture of the Slovak National Museum. The creators of the project talked to more than 40 people who survived WWII in this camp. The exhibition shows contemporary photographs, news articles, 30 movies, and schools can choose one of 10 lectures for their students. "Our lectors provide not only historical facts but also bring back the memories of those who survived", said the Director of the museum Martin Korčok. When the remaining 3 barracks will open is a question of money.
