Although the professional tennis is facing allegations of match fixing right now after a journalistic investigation done by the BBC and Buzzfeed, Slovakia's top tennis player Martin Kližan openly spoke to the press in March last year about being offered money to lose a match. "In 2010, at a tournament in Casablanca, Morocco, I had to play in the second round against Wawrinka. One of the players told me he would give me €25,000, if I lose easily. I had no money then, and it was for me a fortune. I refused. He said I was tired and I'd loose in two sets 2: 6, 2: 6. I lost 4: 6, 6: 0, 4:6 and I was happy with the performance and the fact that I did not accept the money. It was a much better feeling ", said Kližan for the Slovak press agency SITA. He did not name the player who made him the offer back then. On Monday in an interview for the Slovak public radio, Kližan currently ranked 43rd in the world, added, however, that now there are plenty of anti-corruption measures in place in the world of professional tennis.
