Acclaimed priest and Salesian Society member Anton Srholec died at the age of 86 on Thursday. A warrior against oppression, a hero, a unique person and friend were among the recollections that Slovak politicians have of the Roman Catholic Priest. He always wanted our country to be a true home for people; instead of being a place that people flee from, President Andrej Kiska wrote on his Facebook profile. "Whenever he embraced me, I felt the powerful grip of a genuine, admirable human being", Andrej Kiska wrote on his Facebook profile. Apart from his fight against totality in every meaning of the word and his charitable character, politicians also recalled Srholec's unparalleled sense of humour.
