Slovakia concerned by North Korea

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed serious concerns about the declaration made by the Democratic People's Republic of Korea claiming it has conducted a hydrogen bomb test. The Ministry perceives these activities as "a serious threat to regional stability, international peace and security, and violation of United nations' resolutions". Slovakia also requests North Korea to "completely abandon its military nuclear program and shut down and eliminate the nuclear equipment involved." The Ministry finds it necessary to restore the Six-party talks immediately. Trying to settle the situation, Slovakia refers to North Korea's commitments defined in the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons and recommendations made by the International Atomic Energy Agency.
