7 parties likely to make it to Parliament in 2016 election

If parliamentary elections had been held in November or early December of last year, 7 parties in total would make it to Slovak Parliament. This follows from a survey that the Median SK agency conducted at the end of 2015. The elections would have been won by the currently governing Smer-SD party on 42.4 percent of votes. The Christian Democrats (KDH) with 9.4 percent would come next, ahead of the Siet party with 8.3 percent. Four more parties would have cleared the 5-percent threshold needed to win representation in Parliament, the Freedom and Solidarity (SaS) party with 7 percent, OLaNO-NOVA with 6.7 percent followed closely by the Most-Hid and the Slovak National Party. Compared to the agency's survey from late October and early November of 2015 preferences for the Christian Democrats and the Freedom and Solidarity party have risen by 1 percentage point each. The inverse was true for the Smer party which went down by 1 percentage point.
