Minimum wage and maternity benefits have risen

As of January 1, minimum wage and maternity benefits have risen. The minimum wage has increased to €405. The measure is expected to directly affect about 113,000 people and has been criticised by the Federation of Employers' Associations for "not reflecting the actual growth of the economy". Parents on maternity leave will receive €280 per month for a child under the age of three, this sum being increased by 21 percent this year.
