Cash deficit lower than expected

The cash deficit of the state budget in 2015 was one billion euro lower than the Cabinet projected in the approved budget, Finance Minister Peter Kažimír informed at a news conference on Saturday. He specified that the cash deficit of the state budget stood at €1.932 billion at the end of last year. The projection was €2.984 billion. The minister attributed the better result to higher tax revenues which resulted from more efficient tax collection and more positive economic development. "These are the key reasons that were reflected in higher state revenues", Kažimír stated. In his words, it is not yet possible to present the 2015 performance of the public administration as a whole.
