The National Highway Company informed that more than 56 kilometres of new highway have been opened this year. Most of the new sections are part of the D1 motorway - specifically the 16.4-kilometre Dubna Skala-Turany (Zilina region) section and the 18.5-km Janovce-Jablonov (Presov region) section that features the 600-metre Sibenik tunnel. In the Presov region, there was also the 11.2 km Fricovce-Svinia section opened. On the R1 expressway, the 10.4 km Pstrusa-Krivan (Banska Bystrica region) section was opened, which is a bypass of Detva.
