The state-run railway carrier ZSSK is reporting there will be an adequate number of available seats on trains after the winter holidays. Its spokesperson Jana Morhacova said that the biggest interest is in InterCity train connections from Kosice to Bratislava via Zilina during the weekend of January 2-3, where on Sunday the compulsory reservation trains are booked at 72-87 percent capacity. Regarding fast trains, with non-compulsory registration, they are about 20-percent full on January 3. According to Morhacova, there is also an increased interest in travelling from eastern Slovakia to Prague on that weekend. "On Wednesday, January 6 there will be an extra train going from Kosice to Bratislava with departures at 2.19 p.m.," said Morhacova.
